Résumé

The focus of this research project was to assist the Servants Anonymous Society of Calgary (S.A.S.) in the development and implementation of a shared leadership model for the Executive Team. S.A.S. is a not-for-profit agency that helps women who are involved with prostitution find health and healing. This paper begins with a detailed description of the leadership issue, background information and the significance of the opportunity to the organization. To establish a context for this project, an overview of the charitable sector as well as relevant economic and voluntary sector aspects of the local environment are presented. A review of the literature includes discussions of shared leadership models, values based and servant leadership, as well as an overview of large group interventions. A World Café large group intervention was utilized as the research methodology. Data from this engagement is described as are the resulting organizational implications and recommendations for change.
